New Tool Ideas?
Back to RonLine Tools |
Welcome
This suite of tools has been designed to support online teaching and learning. They are available to authorised users for use in educational institution and classrooms. Edith Cowan University does not guarantee or provide any warranty for the tools. Teachers who use them do so at their own risk and need to be mindful of any management issues which may arise from their use and any unforeseen circumstances. The site is very stable and is intended to be maintained and developed into the future.
Teachers wishing to use the tools simply need to register with their name and email. The tools can then be accessed with these details. The system will show on entry, links to all the tools a teacher has created and these can then be managed and maintained. Edith Cowan University can (and will) de-register users if the need arises. The site is managed and maintained by Ron Oliver who can be contacted with queries if the need arises. The site is a development site and has new tools in development and fixes being made to existing tools.

What the tools do
The tools are all Web forms. They are customised forms that enable students to enter information and data in particular ways to support different forms of learning. Each of the tools provides a learning opportunity, the scope of the lerning depends entirely on how the teacher uses the tool.
There are simple tools such as the debating tool, the URL posting tool, the questionnaire tool, the blog tool. These tools provide opportunities for supplemental online activities in any teaching setting.
There are some powerful tools such as the Problem Submission tool the Role playing tool, the Supervision tool that form learning designs for a larger more creative use of online technologies for learning. |
